Social Work
The ACLD Tillotson Schools’ licensed school social workers provide direct services, as well as consultation & collaboration, while maintaining an advocacy role to ensure that students’ educational, emotional, social and material needs are met in accordance with established laws, rules, and regulations.
Direct services include practices such as peer mediation and conflict resolution, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention and response, positive behavioral support, attendance awareness, home visits, referrals for mental health concerns and coordination of school and community services.
Consultation and collaboration occur with the agency contracted to provide ACLD Tillotson School’s school-based behavioral health therapy. Additional collaboration transpires, as needs arise, with involved stakeholders on behalf of students and their families.
