Young adults with learning disabilities will soon have access to a new program extension of the ACLD Tillotson school that prepares them for success and independence beyond school.
SHYFT (Shaping Youths’ Futures Today) will provide young adults with disabilities, ages 18 – 21 with a real-life environment to gain independence in the areas of employment, activities of daily living, leisure, finance, and relationships. SHYFT is part of the continuum of services provided by ACLD, Inc. that nurture “Success for A Lifetime” for children and adults with learning disabilities, autism, or emotional disturbances.

In October 2021, a house in a residential neighborhood was purchased to host this day-time program. The house will provide participants with a life-skills learning environment. Renovations to the house will begin in the spring and be completed for use in the fall of 2022; updates and details will be released as we progress.
