Counseling
The ACLD Tillotson school has two Licensed Professional Counselors on staff. The counselors ensure that the academic, social, and emotional development needs of all students are met through student support services. Services include individual counseling, consultation and collaboration with staff, families, and outside agencies, crisis intervention, and small groups. The counselors aim to provide counseling to students in a brief context and help families obtain outside services if the student requires more long-term clinical counseling. The counselors facilitate groups to provide students with the opportunity to connect with peers and practice social skills among a small group of students. The counselors also support students within the classroom setting to assist with behavior management.
