when speaking to a parent about coming to Tilton School all just want them to know that their kid is going to be coming somewhere where they're at do you know where we want to see their kids doing well and they're going to be surrounded by a staff that just enjoy being around the kids like that look forward to coming in every day working with the kids this gold build these kids up are able to be successful not only academically but socially they helped them at such an early age to get ready for whatever is coming in the future and that might be college that might be a text. Might be just going out of here and getting a job I help them navigate that early on instead of just pushing them through so I want Thomas to be able to be independent and there's no reason he can't be and the school give these kids the tools to be independent in their life names of students at the telephone School are so special because they're genuinely happy to be here for a lot of our kids I think that this might be the first time that they felt comfortable in school or advocating for their needs which makes not only the students really special but Tillotson the whole really special but more than anything I think we just want to provide a welcoming learning environment and show that you can feel comfortable and school and itchy whatever goals you're thinking of we have so many resources the I'm here you know makes things more accessible to students and also allows me to be a little bit more Hands-On so if we look at me like he asked and things that are provided on the Chromebook you know if students having trouble reading they can utilize some of the technology on there to help them read something or highlight things but with the virtual reality and the Cricut machines in the 3D printers that they can actually bring their ideas and the life till that Hands-On and Static-X that is really what most of our population needs and I've been in my rule for 23 years Tillotson has been the top options for us when we are looking for a more structure placement it is right up there and one of the first ones that I consider I wouldn't encourage any parent or any are there special education director to consider Tillotson as an option for the student who has a unique learning profile one who needs a very highly technical approach to their academic instruction one of the challenges that all parents facing in this type of situation is finding the right fit you've gotten over the hurdle the public is not going to be the right fit so what is and that was one of the challenges we experienced and we I would think that we were getting something that would be an academic fit and it didn't have the social emotional support in the office it was because of the passion of the teachers here because of the faculty to student ratio because I'm just the innate please of this institution they are able to find a way to meet each individual need no matter how diverse those needs are and it is a unique and special place. My phone's name is Jorge an easy lesson last year in January and he's 17 18. There's a lot of people that they just like accept what they're just like their teeth are receiving stage of them are like maybe title fighting and try to find other ways and other options I could say that he looks like he's a great place to me it's like grade-school gray professional and you feel like they love everyone so you feel like welcome to the first I think that's special need case they need attention a location discipline a love and he has everything that's yours
