The ACLD Tillotson School takes the safety and well-being of our students, staff and families very seriously. We have worked hard to put a variety of safeguards in place to keep our school community safe and healthy while we educate our students with in-person learning. As we monitor the health of our school body (students and staff) we'll keep a watchful eye on the COVID-19 state and local data. Below is current information regarding COVID-19 and recent updates. We will continue to update this page whenever we receive new information.
While previous public health guidance recommended alternative instructional models to prevent transmission, the recently updated CDC guidance prioritizes layered prevention strategies that can be implemented by schools to maintain full in-person instruction.

CDC guidance on masking recommends indoor mask use for those who are not fully vaccinated, including students, teachers, and school staff. The CDC also highlights that schools may consider universal masking based on the needs of the school community, such as level of community transmission* and local vaccination coverage. Please see ACLD Tillotson School's Health & Safety Plan under "COVID-19 Information & Updates" on our website for our face covering policy.
Per the CDC's order on wearing masks on public transportation, regardless of the school mask policy, masks are required to be worn by passengers and drivers on school buses. The CDC recommends maintaining at least 3 feet of physical distance between students in classrooms, with additional layered mitigation efforts employed if distance recommendations would prevent a school from fully reopening.
More information regarding wearing face coverings at school can be found on the Pennyslvania Department of Education's website.
